San Augustin
This cafe, known for their churros and mexican hot chocolate, is located right on one of the larger city squares. They have an extensive menu, including tapas & fresh fruit smoothies. A great place to stop in for a sweet treat while shopping.
El Correo
The place for a traditional Mexican breakfast, from huevos rancheros to chilaquiles. Those who prefer American fare can order pancakes, French toast, or incredibly fresh fruit salad.
La Media Naranja
This vegetarian friendly cafe serves a healthy selection of organic salads, sandwiches and juices. A charming breakfast or lunch spot.
El Tomato
This Italian inspired restaurant is known for its organic hearty soups, vegetarian lasagna, stuffed peppers & "best sangria in town!" Although the menu here is mostly vegetarian, there are some light meat fares.
El Brasilla Tacos
This is a MUST. These tacos are probably the best tacos we have ever tasted, hands down. Not only are they approx $0.65 per taco, they are absolutely delicioso and addictive-and they are open until 4am! Don't pass up the El Pastor tacos topped with grilled pineapple.
Los Faroles
This outdoor restaurant is known for their grilled meats and make-your-own tacos. They won the 2009 San Miguel de Allende El Grande Cookoff. This is a great place for a lunch and afternnon beer - and they are extremely generous with the guacomole & multitude of salsas.
Cha Cha Cha
Blackberry tamales are just one of the specialties of this immensely popular & innexpensive restaurant, owned partly by Californian Rick Davis, which is locally famous for growing its own leafy greens in a garden out back. You can either dine on their lovely patio, decorated with streamers and bird cages or indoors.
Bugambilia
This fine restaurant has a beautiful outdoor courtyard and large dining room. Traditionall Mexican cooking is prepared with age-old recipes - but prices are bit more expensive for San Miguel. Try the house special, chiles en nogada frÃos: two marinated poblano chiles stuffed with ground beef, almonds, pecans, raisins, and other dried fruit, topped with a cream sauce and sprinkled with pomegranate seeds.
Woolis Kaban
A new bar/restaurant with happy hour daily from 5-11pm. Mexican cuisine from the south of Mexico and unique libations!
La Azotea
Tapas bar and lounge. A great place to watch the sunset or lounge into the evening. Enjoy downtempo electronic music and daily drink specials.
Limerick Pub
If your missing a bit of home & a nice glass of Guinness, Limerick is the place to go-- an irish pub with pool, darts and board games.
The Bar at Casa de Sierra Nevada
A great place to start your evening, this beautifully decorated hotel bar makes delicous margheritas and has an extensive tequila selection!
Harry's New Orleans Café
The décor of this New Orleans bar/restaurant is elegant, with bottles lined up on wood shelves; the bartenders use a rolling ladder to take down out-of-reach scotches. There's a great selection of wines by the glass from Chile, Italy, France, and Mexico, plus finger foods.
La Cucaracha Bar
A dive bar with cheap drinks..lot of local flavor & famous for Jack Kaerouac's visit!
